| Q. |
Will I have enough time to sell cigarettes with existing rear text health warnings? |
| A. |
With proper stock rotation there is no reason why you should have existing rear text health warning cigarette packs in your shop after 30th September 2009. Gallaher and other tobacco manufacturers in the UK have to commence manufacturing tobacco products with pictorial health warnings from 1st October 2008. |

|
| Q. |
When will pictorial health warning packs start to appear in the Market? |
| A. |
It is likely that the first packs containing pictorial health warnings will start to appear in the UK market in mid November 2008 depending on the rate of sale of specific brands. Even though stock with the current text health warnings might be sold to you by your normal supplier after 1st October 2008, you should have more than enough time to sell your stock of cigarette packets carrying rear text health warnings before 30th September 2009. |

|
| Q. |
What will happen to any cigarette packs that are in your shop and do not carry pictorial health warnings after 30th September 2009? |
| A. |
It is your responsibility to ensure that this stock is sold by this date. It will be an offence to sell cigarette packs without pictorial health warnings after this date.
Training your staff to manage your stock rotation efficiently will ensure that cigarettes with existing rear text health warnings are sold before new ones appear on the shelf. You should not therefore have any problems.

| Q. |
Can I sell paper transit outers (i.e. 10 packs of 20 cigarettes) to my customers? |
| A. |
Under no circumstances should transit outers be sold as a single retail unit. In order to assist the retailer Gallaher has clearly marked outers of this type with ‘Remove this wrapper before retail sale’. It is an offence to sell these outers directly to the consumer. Paper transit outers are not to be confused with multipacks which are considered to be a consumer unit of sale and will be clearly marked with the new pictorial health warnings. |

| A. |
Cigars, pipe and RYO tobacco products carrying rear text health warnings have one additional year, until 30th September 2010, to be sold through and therefore shouldn’t pose any problems to you. |
